Jon and Jerry

I’ve been super busy with holiday portraits, weddings and card-making, so haven’t had time to post this entry until now! I was lucky enough to second-shoot for Ryan Brenizer, a cool photographer from NYC, back at the beginning of November. He was in town to photograph Jon and Jerry’s wedding at the Gamble Mansion in Boston.

Jon and Jerry were so sweet. I tend to get a bit anxious as a second shooter because I will be closely involved in the most special day of people’s lives – without ever having met them before! Luckily from the instant I met these two I knew everything would be fine because they are the two nicest people ever!

Sometimes couples ask me why I like to bring a second-shooter to weddings and I tell them that its like having Bonus Features on a DVD. While I was shooting Jon and Jerry’s wedding, I felt like I was shooting a behind-the-scenes documentary. Were I not there, there wouldn’t be this fun shot of Ryan at work!

Ryan – that’s dedication! I love being a second-shooter, precisely because I love photos like the one above. I also like to observe and learn from other photographers. I still love to second-shoot, even though I am a primary wedding photographer now. I hope I get the opportunity to second-shoot for all of the photographers I know!

After finishing the formals, we headed to the Gamble Mansion where guests were preparing for the ceremony.

The CKQ (“Cute Kid Quotient”) was high at this wedding. Very high indeed. Witness below.

The cocktail hour was awesome. All of Jon and Jerry’s guests were so animated!

This next photo is one of my favorite photos from the wedding. I’m not sure why… it’s such a weird moment, and I’m not even sure what the photo is about, but for some reason I love it.
