Post-Wedding Yellows

I’m married! YAY!

I keep hearing from women who get depressed after their weddings – everyone’s gone, all of the planning is done, there’s a huge void where the plans and excitement once lived.

I think the key to not being depressed post-wedding is having pretty flowers from your wedding in your kitchen! And putting them on the window sill in a wedding gift that you’re super excited about!

I’ve always wanted to shoot something in my kitchen as the sun is setting through the blinds. The wedding daisies that managed to survive helped me realize my dream!

The drama!

Sadly we both went back to work post-wedding, and I am taking my mind off the fact that I’m not a honeymoon by giving myself fun projects. This one is in its infancy, but this might be a cool idea for some future flower shots. Or maybe not.

Seriously, though, my wedding was AMAZING. It felt as though I had written a play and my friends and family were enthusiastically playing the parts. The best compliment I got on the wedding was that it felt like “dinner theater.” I wanted it to be participatory, fun, unique, creative, and theatrical. I think it was all of those things. I’m thrilled that it was a success and even more thrilled to be married to the best guy around. While I’d rather be on a beach instead of in front of my computer, I couldn’t be happier.

I’ll post pics soon!
