I have been working closely with The Performance Factory, a dance/singing/musical theater school based out of Waltham, this year. The collaboration started with a multimedia piece I put together as a project for school (I will post still photographs from the project in the future). Using a photo from that project, I made a promotional mailer for them. I then did a photo shoot of some of the students for their summer program, and the photos went into the newspaper, onto a website and onto more promotional postcards.
The Show was great. I had seen the students practicing their numbers while working on the multimedia piece last year and was psyched to see everything come together. The students are all motivated, talented, work extremely hard, and bring energy to their performances. They adore their teacher Christine, who pushes them to excel. I danced as a child and relived the experience while photographing the students. My only complaint is that I couldn’t watch The Show in its entirety because I was busily taking photos. I hope I get to shoot more dance recitals in the future because I had a blast! Here are some of my favorites!
