After Milan, we headed off to Vienna! It had always been a dream of mine to go to Austria – mainly to go on the infamous Sound of Music tour. I was thrilled when I reconnected with a friend via Facebook who is currently doing his post-doc in Vienna! He invited us to stay with him, and of course I couldn’t refuse. He and his wife are the best hosts EVER, and gave us a whirlwind tour of the city!
We were in Austria for three days. We toured the city briefly on the first day after our flight. We took a train to Salzburg on the second day to take the tour (I will spare you those photos – I will assume that you do not care about The Sound of Music as much as I do and don’t really need to see 10,000 photos of the gazebo). On the third day we toured the city again, went to the Freud Museum and the art district, saw 12 billion statues, and concluded that Vienna is the best city ever. I think I may be Austrian at heart!
